Bandung Police have warned travellers on the Nagreg route in Bandung Regency to exercise heightened caution due to severe weather conditions including heavy rain and strong winds that have caused fallen tree branches and slippery road conditions. The police have established integrated command posts at several strategic locations along the route, equipped with medical teams, ambulances, and security personnel to respond to potential incidents during the mudik (homebound) exodus.

Bandung Police (POLRESTA Bandung) have urged both homebound
travellers and the general public to remain vigilant and exercise care
whilst passing through the Nagreg route in Bandung Regency, as extreme
weather conditions including heavy rainfall and storms have become
increasingly frequent in the area.

During the homebound exodus on Saturday, heavy rain in the region was
accompanied by strong winds, causing several tree branches to fall and
making the road surface particularly slippery, especially on the
downhill sections of the Nagreg Ring Road.

“We have experienced two instances of heavy rain at Nagreg today. We
are therefore urging the public to exercise caution as there is a high
risk of falling trees and accidents, particularly on downhill stretches.
This is a high-risk area and we hope the public will be careful,” said
Bandung Police Commander Kombes Pol. Aldi Subartono in Bandung, West
Java, on Saturday.

Subartono explained that Bandung Police have established an
integrated command post at kilometre 36 on the Nagreg route, which
serves as the main command and monitoring centre, equipped with medical
teams including ambulances and recovery vehicles, in order to anticipate
any untoward incidents during the homebound and return exodus.

The integrated post at Nagreg differs from previous years, which was
established at Cileunyi in Bandung Regency, with the relocation aimed at
improving effectiveness. The Nagreg area is considered a critical point
during homebound and return traffic flows.

In addition to the main integrated post, several other posts have
been established as part of monitoring and contingency measures for
various potential situations. A post at the Cileunyi Toll Gate has been
set up to anticipate vehicle congestion resulting from mode transfers
among travellers. Another post at Cimanggung in Sumedang is tasked with
managing traffic density as it serves as a key point for boarding and
alighting and modal transfers for homebound travellers.

A further post at Cikaledong on the Nagreg Ring Road has been
established to prevent congestion resulting from the uphill road
configuration and to manage vehicle flow direction, as it serves as a
connection point to the Limbangan area in Garut.

Bandung Police have equipped all these posts with medical personnel,
ambulances, recovery vehicles, and security personnel from the
Indonesian military and other agencies in order to anticipate various
potential scenarios.

“We have made various preparations at the posts to ensure we are
ready to immediately deploy to locations to conduct emergency response
and traffic engineering measures as required based on the incidents that
arise,” said Subartono.

The Nagreg route, which connects Bandung, Garut and Tasikmalaya,
experienced traffic congestion again following the pre-dawn hours on
Saturday (29 March), which marked two days before Eid al-Fitr 2025.
",
