        "content": "<p>The Ministry of Home Affairs (Kemendagri) has launched the first\nbatch of the Village Heads Enter Campus (KDMK) programme at the\nUniversity of Indonesia (UI) in Depok, West Java. A total of 434 village\nheads from 162 regencies and cities across 20 provinces are\nparticipating in the short course.<\/p>\n<p>Director General of Village Governance Development at Kemendagri, La\nOde Ahmad Pidana Bolombo, stated that the programme is a collaboration\nbetween Kemendagri, the University of Indonesia, local governments, and\nvillage administrations to strengthen the competence of village heads\nthrough education and innovation development.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Village Heads Enter Campus programme is a concrete step to\nenhance the leadership capacity of village heads through collaboration\nbetween Kemendagri, the University of Indonesia, local governments, and\nvillage administrations,\u201d La Ode said in a written statement on\nWednesday (1\/7\/2026). \u201cWe hope that village heads will be able to bring\ninnovations that have a direct impact on the community and strengthen\nvillage governance that is increasingly better, professional, and\nadaptive to the times,\u201d he continued.<\/p>\n<p>The opening ceremony took place at the Purnomo Prawiro Hall, Faculty\nof Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) UI, on Tuesday (30\/6\/2026). The\nevent was attended by Deputy Minister of Home Affairs Bima Arya\nSugiarto, Rector of the University of Indonesia Heri Hermansyah, UI\nleadership, Kemendagri officials, and academics.<\/p>\n<p>The 434 participating village heads come from the provinces of Aceh,\nNorth Sumatra, West Sumatra, Riau, Riau Islands, Jambi, South Sumatra,\nBengkulu, Bangka Belitung Islands, Lampung, West Java, Central Java,\nEast Java, Special Region of Yogyakarta, Banten, West Kalimantan, East\nKalimantan, Central Sulawesi, West Sulawesi, and Southeast Sulawesi.<\/p>\n<p>In his remarks, UI Rector Heri Hermansyah said the KDMK programme\naims to bridge university knowledge, research, and innovation so they\ncan be applied in village development. He noted that village heads are\nexpected to be able to explore local potential and deliver better public\nservices.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, Deputy Minister of Home Affairs Bima Arya Sugiarto\nstressed that villages are the spearhead of national development. He\nsaid improving the quality of human resources for village apparatus is\nkey to addressing various challenges, from governance and technology\nutilisation to public service innovation.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cVillages are the spearhead of national development. Village progress\nwill have a direct impact on community welfare and regional economic\ngrowth,\u201d Bima Arya said.<\/p>\n<p>Following the opening, participants attended lectures divided into 17\nclasses. The material focused on six areas of innovation: agriculture\nand plantations, tourism and ecotourism, economy and infrastructure,\ndisaster mitigation and health, education and digitalisation, as well as\nfisheries and livestock.<\/p>",
