        "content": "<p>Home Affairs Minister Muhammad Tito Karnavian has expressed his\ndetermination to ensure the success of the 2026 Economic Census. The\nsupport was conveyed following a meeting with all governors and vice\ngovernors from across Tanah Papua at the Papua State Building in\nJayapura City. \u201cI respectfully request that we support the Economic\nCensus organised by BPS in Indonesia, especially in Greater Papua,\u201d said\nMinister Tito on Monday, 22 June 2026. He urged all regional heads in\nTanah Papua to back the programme, noting it would provide significant\nbenefits for the region.<\/p>\n<p>Head of Statistics Indonesia (BPS) Amalia Adininggar Widyasanti\nrevealed that the 2026 Economic Census is being conducted simultaneously\nacross Indonesia from 15 June to 31 August 2026. The data collection\ntargets economic activities and the socio-economic conditions of\nfamilies and households nationwide. \u201cTherefore, we at BPS request\nsupport from the Home Affairs Minister and all regional heads,\nespecially in Tanah Papua, so that we can work together to make the 2026\nEconomic Census a success,\u201d said Amalia.<\/p>\n<p>In response, all regional heads from Tanah Papua unanimously declared\ntheir readiness to support the implementation of the 2026 Economic\nCensus. The support was directly conveyed by Papua Governor Mathius D.\nFakhiri, West Papua Vice Governor Mohamad Lakotani, Papua Pegunungan\nGovernor John Tabo, and Southwest Papua Vice Governor Ahmad Nausrau. \u201cOn\nbehalf of the Southwest Papua Provincial Government, we are ready to\nsupport the 2026 Economic Census,\u201d stated Ahmad Nausrau.<\/p>\n<p>Minister Tito has previously invited regional heads on various\noccasions to support the 2026 Economic Census. This commitment was\nformalised, among other ways, by signing a Joint Circular with the Head\nof BPS on Monday, 15 June 2026. Through this effort, the government\nhopes to obtain accurate data on economic conditions, which will\nsubsequently be used as a basis for policy formulation. The meeting was\nalso attended by Vice Minister of Home Affairs Ribka Haluk, several\nhigh-ranking officials within the Ministry of Home Affairs, as well as\nofficials from BPS and Papua Province.<\/p>",
