'Holdup' by Moroccans denied<\/p>\n
JAKARTA (JP): The Moroccan embassy denied yesterday the
\nalleged role of five of its citizens in a robbery on the city's
\nwell-known tourist street, Jl. Jaksa in Central Jakarta.<\/p>\n
\"They're clean and had been released already on Saturday,\"
\nsecond secretary of the embassy, Atlassi, told The Jakarta Post
\nby telephone.<\/p>\n
Quoting the city police spokesman, the Post reported on Sunday
\nthat five Moroccans were apprehended on Friday evening while
\ntrying to run from a plainclothes officer and an angry mob.<\/p>\n
The officer and mob thought the five were members of an 11-
\nmember group of foreigners who robbed an Italian tourist on the
\nstreet a day earlier, said spokesman Lt. Col. Iman Haryatna.<\/p>\n
The Moroccans were then arrested and questioned at the City
\nPolice Headquarters.<\/p>\n
Iman said yesterday that the five men had been released late
\nSaturday after police found no evidence to suggest guilt.<\/p>\n
The Italian tourist, identified as Morreno Casesio, who was
\nthe victim of a holdup on Thursday, was unable to describe his
\nassailants and could not say whether the Moroccans were the
\nsuspected criminals, Iman said.<\/p>\n
\"The Italian was not sure about the identities of the
