It serves as a guide, containing historical\nnarratives, emphasising moral values, and providing teachings on life\nthat form the basis of jurisprudence (sharia\/fiqh). Additionally, it\noffers peace of mind and mercy to those who believe and follow its\nteachings. Thus, the Qur\u2019an is the greatest miracle of Prophet Muhammad\n(PBUH), unmatched by Arab poets of his time. Therefore, studying the\nQur\u2019an is essential as it guides humanity away from misguidance in daily\nlife, forms the foundation of character development, structures life by\nexplaining fundamental concepts across various aspects, and serves as a\nguide to achieving salvation in both this world and the hereafter.<\/p>\n<p>DISCUSSION<\/p>\n<p>A. History of Revelation and Compilation of the Qur\u2019an<\/p>\n<ol type=\"1\">\n<li>The Process of Revelation<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>The Qur\u2019an was revealed to Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) gradually over\napproximately 23 years, beginning in the Cave of Hira in 610 CE, through\nthe angel Jibril. Its revelation signifies a major event, establishing\nits status for inhabitants of the heavens and earth.<\/p>\n<ol start=\"2\" type=\"1\">\n<li>Compilation During the Prophet\u2019s Era<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>During the Prophet\u2019s time, the revealed verses were memorised by the\nCompanions and written on palm leaves, stone tablets, leaves, bones, and\nanimal skins. These materials were used to document the memorised\nverses.<\/p>\n<ol start=\"3\" type=\"1\">\n<li>Compilation During Abu Bakr\u2019s Caliphate<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Following the Prophet\u2019s death, the primary advocate for compilation\nwas Umar ibn al-Khattab, prompted by the deaths of many Quranic\nmemorisers in battles. Initially, Arabic script\nlacked dots and vowel marks (such as in the letters \u0628, \u062a, \u062b).<\/p>\n<p>B. In the modern era, understanding the Qur\u2019an\u2019s teachings\nis essential due to moral crises in both physical and digital societies,\nleading to suboptimal social interactions and a lack of harmony.
