He highlighted the need for fair and responsible distribution to ensure subsidies reach small-scale users and productive sectors, urging the public to avoid panic buying that harms vulnerable communities.

Jakarta (ANTARA) - Secretary General of the Indonesian Young
Entrepreneurs Association (Hipmi) Anggawira has urged the strengthening
of oversight on subsidised diesel distribution to prevent the use of
Pertamina barcodes for stockpiling diesel fuel.

“The government could consider several steps, such as optimising the
distribution of subsidised diesel in areas prone to queues, and
monitoring the consumption of industries or vehicles that should use
non-subsidised fuel,” said Anggawira in a statement received in Jakarta
on Wednesday.

Anggawira, who is also Chairman of the Mineral and Coal Energy
Suppliers Association (Aspebindo), explained several concrete steps that
need to be strengthened so that the distribution of subsidised fuel can
be carried out on target.

First, he said that the government, regulators, or Pertamina should
strengthen the integration of digital data and real-time vehicle
verification.

“This includes synchronising barcodes with vehicle identities, NIK,
consumption patterns, and refuelling locations,” he said.

Second, Anggawira suggested the need to strengthen oversight at fuel
stations, especially in areas prone to misuse.

“Oversight should not only be manual but also based on digital
analytics, so that abnormal purchasing patterns can be quickly
detected,” he stated.

Third, there should be firm action against hoarding practices and
misuse of subsidised fuel.

Anggawira believes that legal certainty is very important to create a
deterrent effect.

He also urged the public to remain calm and purchase fuel according
to their needs, without hoarding or excessive purchases using multiple
barcodes or other methods.

When panic buying occurs, Anggawira said that the parties most harmed
are actually small communities and productive sectors that have long
needed subsidised diesel to work and run their daily businesses.

He views energy as a shared need.

Therefore, he said, its distribution must be maintained fairly,
orderly, and responsibly.

“We believe that the government, regulators, Pertamina, and the
public can work together to ensure that energy subsidies remain on
target and are not misused,” said Anggawira.
",
