        "content": "<p>A hiker has been reported missing on the Kawah Ijen crater trail in\nLicin District, Banyuwangi Regency, on Wednesday afternoon (18\nFebruary). A search and rescue team has been dispatched to locate\nhim.<\/p>\n<p>Head of the Banyuwangi Search and Rescue Office, I Made Oka Astawa,\nsaid the missing person report was received by his office at 20:05 local\ntime.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe victim has been identified as Muhammad Dzikri Maulana (Lakis), a\nresident of Tamansari Village, Licin District,\u201d Oka said in a statement\non Wednesday evening.<\/p>\n<p>Oka explained that the victim had set out to climb with four\ncompanions at 02:00 local time. Upon reaching the summit, the victim\nbecame separated from the group and has not returned nor been found\nsince.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBased on the report received, the incident is estimated to have\noccurred at approximately 08:30 local time on the Kawah Ijen hiking\ntrail at coordinates 8\u00b03\u201941.68\u201dS 114\u00b014\u201945.83\u201dE,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Acting on a request for assistance from the Mount Ijen Task Force, a\nrescue team from the Banyuwangi Search and Rescue Office departed for\nthe incident location at 20:24 local time and arrived at the last known\nposition at 21:54 local time.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe SAR operation involves seven rescue personnel, supported by\nelements from the Banyuwangi Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD),\nLicin Sector Police, Licin Military District Command, the Ijen Mountain\nNatural Resources Conservation Agency (KSDA), Banyuwangi SAR\nIndependent, and local community members, equipped with a Type II rescue\nvehicle, vertical rescue equipment, medical supplies, and communication\ndevices,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Oka stated that the joint SAR team would conduct a thorough search\neffort whilst maintaining due regard for personnel safety.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe have dispatched a team to the location and will carry out an\nintensive search by combing the hiking trail and suspected points. We\nurge all hikers to always stay with their group and comply with safety\nprocedures when undertaking climbs,\u201d he concluded.<\/p>",
