Highwayman arrested<\/p>\n
JAKARTA (JP): Four men who robbed passengers in a medium-sized
\nbus yesterday fled police, but police managed to arrest one
\nsuspect near City Police Headquarters.<\/p>\n
The arrested suspect was identified as 17-year-old Rudy
\nSitompul.<\/p>\n
The bus was run by the Kowanbisata cooperative plying the
\nPulogadung-Ciledug route from Ciledug, East Jakarta, to a border
\narea between South Jakarta and Tangerang.<\/p>\n
City Police Spokesman Lt. Col. E. Aritonang said yesterday the
\nmen had robbed at least eight passengers.<\/p>\n
\"The four crooks hopped on the bus in Pulogadung. They
\nthreatened passengers with sharp weapons and asked for cash,\"
\nAritonang said.<\/p>\n
Irwan, a bus crew member, said the suspects had posed as
\npolice officers, checking everyone's identity cards before
\ndemanding for money.<\/p>\n
Aritonang said the suspects took at least Rp 80,000 from two
\npassengers.<\/p>\n
\"As the bus left the Cawang toll road exit ramp near the City
\nPolice Headquarters, the driver, Hanafi, kept blowing the horn.
\nThe noise attracted police attention and the bus was pulled
