Jakarta \u2014 Muhammad Isnur, Head of the Indonesian Legal Aid Foundation\n(YLBHI), revealed that the liquid suspected to be caustic acid, which\nwas poured on Andrie Yunus, not only wounded the victim but also damaged\nparts of his motorcycle.<\/p>\n
According to Isnur, the level of corrosiveness of the liquid was\nsuspected to be extremely high, causing the speedometer of the\nmotorcycle belonging to the Deputy Coordinator of the Commission for the\nDisappeared and Victims of Violence to blister severely.<\/p>\n
\u201cSo it is suspected this is an acid that does (cause) blistering. So\nhis clothes caught fire immediately. Even his motorcycle\u2019s speedometer\nblistered,\u201d said Isnur at the YLBHI Office in Jakarta on Friday (13\nMarch 2026).<\/p>\n
Isnur stated that following the attack, which occurred on Thursday\n(12 March 2026) evening, Andrie was immediately taken to the Emergency\nDepartment at Cipto Mangunkusumo Hospital.<\/p>\n
On the night of the incident, approximately 20 doctors immediately\nprovided medical treatment to the victim. This number increased to 22\ndoctors on Friday (13 March 2026).<\/p>\n
Dimas Bagus Arya, Coordinator of the KontraS Working Body, stated\nthat six categories of medical specialists are treating Andrie\u2019s\ncondition, namely ophthalmologists, neurologists, ear-nose-and-throat\nspecialists, dermatologists, internal medicine specialists\n(respiratory), and forensic doctors.<\/p>\n
\u201c(The doctors) are actually trying to see what the effects of the\ncorrosion from the caustic substance are. But broadly speaking, the\nprimary diagnosis, as mentioned earlier, shows 24 per cent burn wounds\non the right side of Andrie\u2019s body,\u201d explained Dimas.<\/p>\n
\u201cFrom his head to his body, he has sustained serious burn injuries.\nThen the most concerning part is of course his eyes,\u201d he continued.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe have also coordinated with the Witness and Victim Protection\nAgency, because in this context, Andri Yunus is a victim of a systematic\ncriminal act,\u201d explained Dimas.<\/p>\n
Previously, it was reported that Andrie Yunus was attacked with\ncaustic acid by an unknown person on Thursday (12 March 2026)\nevening.<\/p>\n
According to Dimas, the incident occurred at approximately 23:37\nWestern Indonesia Time when the victim was riding a motorcycle on Jalan\nSalemba I\u2013Talang, Senen District, Central Jakarta.<\/p>\n
As he passed through the location, two perpetrators riding a\nmotorcycle, suspected to be a Honda Beat model from 2016 to 2021,\napproached the victim from the opposite direction on Jalan Talang or\nJembatan Talang.<\/p>\n
