Highland Gathering in Karawaci<\/p>\n
JAKARTA (JP): This year's Highland Gathering, which last year
\nwas held at Senayan Stadium, will move to a spacious new venue at
\nLippo Karawaci, according to the Gathering's spokesman.<\/p>\n
The new stadium would give more room for the hundreds of
\nparticipants and several thousand spectators who are expected at
\nthe Gathering, scheduled on June 15, Robert Dover said in a
\nstatement.<\/p>\n
\"Everything is falling into place for what promises to be one
\nof the most entertaining and exciting Highland Gatherings in many
\nyears,\" he said.<\/p>\n
This perfect setting, very similar to the typical Highland
\nGathering held in Scotland each year, will provide an opportunity
\nfor the public to see the events, he said.<\/p>\n
Major events at the Gathering will include, among other
\nthings, parachute jumping, a pipe-band competition and Scottish
\ncountry dance competitions involving teams from Hong Kong, Kuala
\nLumpur and Singapore.<\/p>\n
Other attractions will be a 10-km race, a volleyball
\ncompetition, the ever-popular tug-of-war, and all the usual track
\nand field events, including the five-a-side soccer competition
\nand mini rugby.<\/p>\n
\"The wood choppers from Australia will again be performing
\ntheir feats of skill and of course the heavy performers from
