Beirut (ANTARA) - The Lebanese Hezbollah movement is prepared to\nadhere to a ceasefire if Israel stops attacking all parts of Lebanon,\naccording to a statement by Mahmoud Qamati, a member of the Shiite\ngroup\u2019s political leadership, on Tuesday.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe have informed all relevant parties that we have cancelled the\nexchange formula between the southern outskirts of Beirut and northern\nsettlements [in Israel],\u201d Qamati told the Qatar-based Al-Araby\nbroadcasting station.<\/p>\n
Qamati continued that the group has agreed upon a real and\ncomprehensive ceasefire and is ready to commit to it. He also stated\nthat Hezbollah rejects the \u201cyellow line\u201d in southern Lebanon in order to\nliberate its entire territory. He further vowed to attack deeper targets\nin Israel if the enemy continues its aggression and bombards the\noutskirts of Beirut.<\/p>\n
On Monday, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu ordered strikes\nagainst Hezbollah targets on the outskirts of Beirut, an action\ndescribed by the Iranian Foreign Ministry as a violation of the\nceasefire brokered by Washington and Tehran.<\/p>\n
On the same day, following discussions with Netanyahu and Hezbollah\nofficials, US President Donald Trump announced that the Lebanese\nmovement and Israel had agreed to a ceasefire.
