        "content": "<p>The leadership of the Ombudsman of the Republic of Indonesia respects\nthe law enforcement process after Chairman Hery Susanto was designated\nas a suspect by the Attorney General\u2019s Office (AGO). It is known that\nHery Susanto was named a suspect in a criminal corruption case\nconcerning the management of nickel mining business in Southeast\nSulawesi (Sultra). \u201cThe leadership of the Ombudsman RI fully respects\nthe ongoing legal process and hands over the handling of this case to\nthe authorised law enforcers and will be cooperative,\u201d the Ombudsman\nstated in its official statement, quoted on Friday (17\/4\/2026).\nTherefore, the Ombudsman reaffirms its commitment to the principles of\ntransparency, accountability, and respect for the presumption of\ninnocence. \u201cEvery party has the right to a fair legal process in\naccordance with applicable laws and regulations,\u201d the Ombudsman wrote.\n\u201cThe leadership of the Ombudsman RI for the 2026-2031 period conveys\napologies for the public inconvenience and regrets that this incident\noccurred, and is strongly committed to continuing to maintain public\ntrust in the task of supervising public services with full integrity,\u201d\nthe Ombudsman wrote.
