Heretic cult enrages locals<\/p>\n
JAKARTA: Dozens of followers of Lia Eden, previously known as
\nLia Aminuddin, were evacuated by police on Wednesday from their
\nheadquarters on Jl. Mahoni, Central Jakarta, to a safe place
\nafter thousands of people surrounded the place.<\/p>\n
Jakarta Police spokesman Sr. Comr. I Ketut Untung Yoga Ana
\nsaid that the followers were evacuated to prevent them from being
\nattacked by the people, who claimed that Lia and her people were
\nfollowers of heretic teachings.<\/p>\n
\"We must evacuate them to protect them from thousands of angry
\nresidents who have surrounded their base camp since morning. We
\nare afraid that the crowd will become agitated and attack Lia's
\nfollowers,\" he told The Jakarta Post.<\/p>\n
He said that police had to forcibly evacuate the followers
\nafter they insisted on staying.<\/p>\n
Lia had just inaugurated her house, naming it Eden Palace. She
\nallegedly claims to be both the mother of Jesus and God's
