Hempel sets up new venture<\/p>\n
JAKARTA (JP): Danish paint maker Hempel established a joint
\nventure with PT Unimas Chemicals and Coatings on Monday in a bid
\nto boost its operations in the country.<\/p>\n
The president of Hempel, Guido B. Eelen, said on Tuesday that
\nthe venture would streamline Hempel's operations by centralizing
\nthe tasks of the two firms under the name of PT. Hempel Coatings
\nIndonesia.<\/p>\n
\"With the establishment of this new company, we have started
\nthe process of concentrating all of the marketing and production
\nactivities of Hempel in this company,\" he said during a ceremony
\nmarking the donation of basic necessities to people living near
\nHempel's factory in Bekasi, West Java.<\/p>\n
Earlier, company director Dahlan Hussein said that Hempel was
\nserved by two companies, PT Hempelindo, which markets and
\ndistributes Hempel's products, and PT Unimas, which produces raw
\nmaterials for Hempel.<\/p>\n
Hempel, which produces marine paints and protective paints,
\nhas been marketing its products in Indonesia since the mid-1970s,
\nand began to produce its products in Indonesia in 1985. (gis)<\/p>",
