        "content": "<p>Deputy Minister of Health Benjamin Paulus Octavianus expressed his\nappreciation at the launch of the Active Case Finding (AKF) TB program,\nintegrated with the SMART Free Health Check (CKG) in Bogor City, West\nJava.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI learned that all urban villages in Bogor City have become TB Alert\nVillages. This is extraordinary and I want Bogor City to become a\nnational model,\u201d he said on Wednesday.<\/p>\n<p>According to him, effective TB control requires proactive case\nfinding by local governments, community health centres, regional\nofficials, and community health workers, especially among people who\nhave been in close contact with TB patients.<\/p>\n<p>Through integration with the SMART CKG program, residents can undergo\nscreening more closely from their homes. This examination includes a\nhealth screening, chest X-ray, and sputum testing if abnormalities are\nfound.<\/p>\n<p>The Ministry of Health will also provide Tuberculosis Preventive\nTherapy (TPT) to high-risk residents who have not developed active\nTB.<\/p>\n<p>As of July 26, 2026, the TB case detection rate in Bogor City had\nreached 71.9 percent of the 90 percent target.<\/p>\n<p>Deputy Minister Octavianus hopes this movement can significantly\nreduce the national TB case curve between 2028 and 2029.<\/p>\n<p>On the same occasion, Bogor Mayor Dedie A. Rachim said that although\nthe city has a life expectancy above the national average, it still\nfaces major challenges from its high population density, which increases\nthe risk of infectious disease transmission.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, Bogor City Health Office Head Erna Nuraena said Bogor\nranked fifth in West Java for TB burden in 2025, with 10,577 recorded\ncases and an incidence rate of 955 per 100,000 population.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHowever, of the total patients treated in Bogor City, only 62\npercent were native Bogor residents. The remainder came from Bogor\nDistrict (35 percent) and outside the region (3 percent). This situation\nmakes Bogor City a reference for TB services, but on the other hand, it\nadds challenges in monitoring patients across regions,\u201d she noted.<\/p>\n<p>To reduce the number of cases, the Bogor City Government is targeting\nthe implementation of integrated TB tracing from August to November\n2026.
