The National Nutrition Agency (BGN) has clarified the procurement of 21,000 electric motorcycles branded with its logo, which went viral on social media, emphasising that it forms part of the 2025 budget for supporting the Free Nutritious Meals Programme (MBG) to enhance mobility for nutritional service units. Although budgeted in 2025, the administrative and financial realisation occurred in 2026 via official government mechanisms, including end-of-year fund commitments under PMK 84/2025, with payments in two stages. The motorcycles, produced domestically in Citeureup, West Java, with a 48.5% local content rate, underscore BGN's commitment to transparency, accountability, and bolstering the national industry.

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA – The National Nutrition Agency (BGN) has
provided a comprehensive explanation regarding a viral video on social
media featuring motorcycles with the BGN logo. This clarification also
reaffirms the agency’s commitment to transparency and accountability in
implementing the Free Nutritious Meals Programme (MBG). According to BGN
Head Dadan Hindayana, the procurement of electric motorcycles is part of
the 2025 budget planning, not a sudden new programme. “The procurement
of these electric motorcycles has been planned in the 2025 budget as
part of the operational support for the MBG Programme, particularly to
support the mobility of Heads of Nutritional Fulfilment Service Units,”
said Dadan in Jakarta on Tuesday (7/4/2026). Dadan explained that
although included in the 2025 budget, the administrative and financial
realisation of the procurement took place in 2026. This was due to the
final budget process that has gone through official government
mechanisms. “At the end of 2025, the Commitment Making Official (PPK)
submitted the SPM, so the budget entered the RPATA or End-of-Year Budget
Holding Account. This mechanism complies with PMK 84 of 2025, where
payments are made in two stages: the first instalment upon completion of
60 percent of the units and the second for completion up to 100 percent
of the units,” Dadan explained. Furthermore, he stated that BGN
emphasises that all motorcycle units produced are domestically made with
a domestic component level (TKDN) of 48.5 percent. Production is carried
out at a manufacturing facility located in Citeureup, West Java. “This
is part of our efforts not only to support the programme’s operations
but also to encourage the national industry through the use of domestic
products with significant TKDN,” said Dadan.
",
