        "content": "<p>Hatta's house rebuilt<\/p>\n<p>PADANG, West Sumatra: The reconstruction of the house of the<br>\nlate Mohammad Hatta, Indonesia's first vice president, in<br>\nBukittinggi is now almost completed.<\/p>\n<p>The Pendidikan Wawasan Nusantara Foundation, which is<br>\nfinancing the project to rebuild the home from scratch, is<br>\nspending Rp 350 million to reconstruct the house where Hatta<br>\nlived from birth until he turned 18 years old.<\/p>\n<p>The reconstruction was based on Hatta's own memoirs, a<br>\nphotograph of the front of the house, and recollections from some<br>\nof the surviving neighbors, according to Hendrino, the architect<br>\nof the project, Antara reported.<\/p>\n<p>The main house is a two-story structure built on a 774 meter<br>\nplot of land. A porch in the front faces Singgalang and Merapi<br>\nvolcanoes.<\/p>\n<p>Besides the main building, there is also a stable, a rice barn<br>\nand a fish pond.
