        "content": "<p>Hasyim told to quit NU post<\/p>\n<p>JAKARTA: Former president Abdurrahman \"Gus Dur\" Wahid urged on<br>\nMonday Hasyim Muzadi, chairman of Nahdlatul Ulama (NU), to quit<br>\nhis post before nominating himself as a presidential candidate in<br>\nthe 2004 general elections.<\/p>\n<p>Gus Dur stressed on Monday that Hasyim must not use NU, the<br>\ncountry's biggest Islamic organization, as a political vehicle.<\/p>\n<p>According to Gus Dur, who chaired the organization for three<br>\nterms, NU must maintain its non-partisan stance instead of<br>\ninvolving itself in politics.<\/p>\n<p>Gus Dur disclosed that Hasyim had formed a team to help his<br>\nbid for the presidency.
