Djojohadikusumo regretted<br>\non Thursday the threat of a senior official from the Indonesian<br>\nBank Restructuring Agency (IBRA) to take legal action against him<br>\nif he failed to settle the obligations of two of his closed<br>\nbanks.<\/p>\n<p>Hashim said the IBRA official had not been involved in the<br>\ndiscussion to settle the debts of Bank Pelita and Bank<br>\nIstismarat.<\/p>\n<p>&quot;As far as we know, Dasa Sutantio has never been involved in<br>\ndiscussions and negotiations about these two banks, which were<br>\ncarried out with another officer from IBRA,&quot; he said in a press<br>\nstatement, referring to the group head of the asset management<br>\ninvestment unit at IBRA.<\/p>\n<p>Dasa said on Tuesday that IBRA would take legal action in<br>\nJanuary against Hashim if he failed to repay the obligations to<br>\nthe two banks.<\/p>\n<p>Bank Pelita and Bank Istismarat received some Rp 3.2 trillion<br>\nin government liquidity support last year as the economic crisis<br>\ndeepened.<\/p>\n<p>&quot;The process of settling debts of Bank Pelita and Bank<br>\nIstismarat is still ongoing,&quot; Hashim said.<\/p>\n<p>&quot;These two banks have always fulfilled documentation<br>\nrequirements, as well as a letter of commitment, as requested by<br>\nIBRA.<\/p>\n<p>&quot;Moreover, discussions have reached the agreed principal<br>\ntimetable.
