Jakarta (ANTARA) - Chairman of the Housing Task Force (Satgas) Hashim\nDjojohadikusumo has reminded that the implementation of the Manggarai\nAffordable Housing programme must proceed on the principle of fairness\nand must not be misused by certain parties, by applying a\none-buyer-one-unit rule.<\/p>\n
Hashim asked programme managers to ensure that no party buys housing\nin large quantities and then transfers it to other people.<\/p>\n
\u201cSo this is what we are asking to be really looked at, yes. Don\u2019t let\nit be bought up in bulk. Out of 3,000, a certain person buys 300, 500,\nthen entrusts it to someone, entrusts it to their driver, under the\ndriver\u2019s name, under the office boy\u2019s name,\u201d he said at the\nGroundbreaking of Manggarai Affordable Housing in Jakarta on Friday.<\/p>\n
\u201cSo we must be fair, one customer, one interested buyer, one housing\nunit,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n
He assessed that strengthening execution is an important challenge in\nrunning various government programmes.<\/p>\n
Furthermore, Hashim said the government will continue to expand the\ndevelopment of affordable housing with the transit-oriented development\n(TOD) concept.<\/p>\n
The development of these areas will be directed to various regions,\nespecially areas that have strategic land around stations.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis is not the first and the last. There will be one in Kampung\nBandan from Qatar, then with Astra, then possibly in Bandung there is a\nplace, I hear in Surabaya, in Semarang, wherever there are stations with\nlarge land areas, that is where we will build this TOD system,\u201d he\nsaid.<\/p>\n
Hashim stressed that the construction of affordable housing is part\nof joint work across ministries and agencies to ensure that the public\nhas access to decent housing.<\/p>\n
The Manggarai housing, built in a strategic area, consists of Block\nG, Block F, and Block H with a land area of approximately 2.2\nhectares.<\/p>\n
The project will deliver 3,784 vertical housing units in eight towers\nwith supporting facilities in the form of 150 retail units to support\nthe area.<\/p>\n
The housing is targeted for completion within 18 months while\nmaintaining railway operational safety as the top priority.<\/p>\n
