        "content": "<p>Jakarta - Presidential Special Envoy for Energy and Climate Hashim\nDjojohadikusumo has stated that forestry carbon trading can support the\nnational emission reduction targets. \u201cThis implementation is expected to\nserve as an entry point for strengthening Indonesia\u2019s carbon market\nwhile supporting the national emission reduction targets,\u201d Hashim said\nin a joint statement with the Ministry of Forestry in Jakarta on Monday.\nThis follows the launch of the Minister of Forestry\u2019s Approval regarding\nthe issuance of carbon units through the Non-Greenhouse Gas Emission\nReduction Certificate (Non SPE-GRK) scheme. \u201cThe launch of forestry\ncarbon trading through the Non-Greenhouse Gas Emission Reduction\nCertificate (Non SPE-GRK) scheme marks the beginning of carbon trading\nfor projects that have met the requirements,\u201d he stated. Hashim\ntherefore expressed appreciation for the Ministry of Forestry\u2019s\nperformance in accelerating the implementation of carbon trading.\nAccording to him, the carbon trading programme is one of the\ngovernment\u2019s fastest-realised policy implementations. \u201cI can say that\nthe programme is now complete and we are now implementing it,\u201d Hashim\nsaid. He acknowledged that the implementation phase certainly presents\nchallenges in the field. However, Hashim assessed that the forestry\ncarbon trading programme has the potential to become one of the quickest\nand most perfect programmes. He explained that this success was born\nfrom collaboration among various ministries, agencies, and stakeholders\nworking within a single ecosystem. \u201cThis programme is\ncross-departmental, cross-ministerial, cross-agency, cross-sectoral, and\nit is the most successful. This is extraordinary, we are proud,\u201d Hashim\ncontinued. Hashim specifically expressed appreciation to Minister of\nForestry Raja Juli Antoni, who was deemed capable of accelerating the\nimplementation of carbon trading to produce projects ready for trading.\nAs a result, he noted, the launch of the Carbon Unit Registry System for\ncarbon trading in the forestry sector can proceed directly on 9 July.\n\u201cNext Thursday it will be launched, extraordinary.
