Former Head of the Presidential Communications Office (PCO), Hasan\nNasbi, has returned to President Prabowo Subianto\u2019s inner circle of\ngovernment. Hasan, who resigned from the PCO on 21 April 2025, was\ninaugurated by Prabowo as Special Presidential Adviser on\nCommunication.<\/p>\n
The inauguration took place on Monday, 27 April 2026, or about one\nyear after Hasan submitted his resignation letter from the PCO. \u201cToday,\nI have been assigned by the President as a special adviser on\ncommunication and media,\u201d Hasan said after the inauguration at the\nPresidential Palace in Jakarta.<\/p>\n
According to Hasan, he will serve as an assistant to Prabowo. He will\nwork with the Government Communication Agency or Bakom, the new name for\nthe PCO, as well as the Ministry of Communication and Digital in\ncarrying out his duties as special adviser.<\/p>\n
The aim, Hasan said, is to strengthen government communication. \u201cSo\nthat the messages intended for the public can be even better, reach\nfurther, and be understood by society,\u201d he stated.<\/p>\n
Hasan also mentioned wanting to clarify untrue news. \u201cThis may also\ninclude the government certainly needing to correct things, news,\nunderstandings, or information that is untrue about the government,\u201d he\nsaid.<\/p>\n
On the other hand, Hasan stated that his role does not yet include\nbeing the government spokesperson. Currently, he said, that duty is held\nby State Secretary Minister Prasetyo Hadi and Head of the Communication\nAgency Muhammad Qodari.<\/p>\n
Nevertheless, Hasan expressed readiness if at some point he is asked\nby Prabowo to speak on behalf of the government. \u201cIf ordered by the\nPresident to step forward again, meet with media friends, we are also\nready, insha\u2019Allah. We\u2019ll meet often,\u201d he remarked.<\/p>\n
Hasan Nasbi previously resigned from his position as Head of the\nPresidential Communications Office at the end of April last year.\nAlthough the specific reason was not disclosed, Hasan\u2019s resignation came\nafter he made a statement that sparked controversy.<\/p>\n
In mid-March, Tempo faced a series of terror incidents. The terror\nincluded packages containing a pig\u2019s head without ears, parcels with six\ndead rats with severed heads, and digital crimes in the form of doxxing\nagainst Francisca Christy Rosana, a political desk journalist and one of\nthe hosts of the Bocor Alus podcast.<\/p>\n
In response to the terror, Hasan suggested cooking the pig\u2019s head.\n\u201cJust cook it,\u201d he said at the Presidential Palace Complex in Central\nJakarta on Friday, 21 March 2025.<\/p>\n
The statement was based on Cica\u2019s response on social media X, which\nHasan considered a joke. He opined that if the victim herself did not\nfeel threatened, the incident should not be exaggerated. \u201cI saw Cica\u2019s\nsocial media. She asked for pig meat to be sent. That means she is not\nthreatened. She can joke. Send pig meat then,\u201d Hasan said.<\/p>\n
Hasan also questioned whether the sent pig\u2019s head was truly a threat\nor just a joke. \u201cIs it really like that? Or just jokes? Because they\nresponded with jokes,\u201d said Hasan Nasbi.<\/p>\n
