Hartono to mark retirement<\/p>\n
MAGELANG, Central Java (JP): Minister of Information R.
\nHartono will be among the 88 high-ranking army officers who will
\ntake part in a ceremony here next month symbolically marking
\ntheir retirement.<\/p>\n
The ceremony will be held on Nov. 11 in conjunction with the
\n40th anniversary of the Military Academy.<\/p>\n
Hartono, who was Army chief of staff, retired in June prior to
\nbeing appointed minister of information. He held the rank of
\ngeneral.<\/p>\n
Another notable who will participate in the retirement
\nceremony is former Deputy Army Chief Lt. Gen. Soedjasmin.<\/p>\n
Military Academy Governor Maj. Gen. Djoko Subroto said
\nyesterday that Army Chief of Staff Gen. Wiranto would serve as
\ninspector at the ceremony.<\/p>\n
Djoko said that to commemorate the academy's anniversary, a
\nseminar would also be held on Nov. 7 to Nov. 8.<\/p>\n
An impressive list of speakers is slated to address the
\nseminar from both the military and nonmilitary field, such as
\nMinister of Defense and Security Edi Sudradjat, Army Special
\nForce commander Maj. Gen. Prabowo Subianto, and political
\nscientists Yusril Ihza Mahendra and Amir Santoso. (har)<\/p>",
