Jakarta, Kompas.com - Deputy Governor of DKI Jakarta Rano Karno\nserved as the inspecting officer for the National Education Day\n(Hardiknas) ceremony 2026 at the courtyard of Jakarta City Hall, Central\nJakarta, on Monday (4\/5\/2026).<\/p>\n
In his speech, Rano stressed that all children in Jakarta must be\nable to attend school and should not be left behind due to any\nproblems.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe DKI Jakarta Provincial Government believes that no child should\nbe left behind just because of circumstances. No dreams should be locked\naway due to issues of cost, diplomas, access, or disasters,\u201d said Rano\non Monday.<\/p>\n
For this reason, the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government (Pemprov) has\nprepared several programmes. One of them is the diploma waiver programme\nin collaboration with BAZNAS BAZIS DKI Jakarta.<\/p>\n
According to Rano, the programme is important because diplomas are\nthe primary requirement for job applications or continuing\neducation.<\/p>\n
\u201cIn 2026, the first phase will distribute diplomas to 2,026 students,\nfrom primary school, junior high school, senior high school, vocational\nhigh school, to community learning centres, with a total budget of\nnearly Rp 4 billion,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
In addition, Pemprov DKI released 561 vocational high school\ngraduates to work abroad, including in Japan, Malaysia, and Germany.\nRano stated that Jakarta\u2019s vocational graduates are now ready to compete\nin the global job market.<\/p>\n
Pemprov DKI will also implement a free private school programme\nstarting from the 2026\/2027 academic year. This programme covers 103\nprivate schools in Jakarta.<\/p>\n
The programme is part of Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung\u2019s policy to\nhelp children from low-income families continue their education.<\/p>\n
Not only in Jakarta, Pemprov also distributed aid for schools\naffected by disasters in several regions through the Distrik Peduli\nmovement. The total aid collected reached Rp 2.2 billion.<\/p>\n
Aid was provided to schools in Aceh, North Sumatra, and West Sumatra,\nin the form of laptops, clean water facilities, and school\nequipment.<\/p>\n
Rano emphasised that education must continue even in difficult\nconditions.<\/p>\n
On that occasion, Rano also recalled the educational values\nbequeathed by Ki Hajar Dewantara, including the philosophy \u201cIng ngarsa\nsung tuladha, ing madya mangun karsa, tut wuri handayani\u201d.<\/p>\n
He also expressed appreciation to teachers, who he described as\nguardians of civilisation, and encouraged students to remain\nenthusiastic in pursuing their education.<\/p>\n
\u201cEducation is the path to liberating humanity and opening the\nfuture,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
