Handheld PC lost at hotel

I work for an American company. On Tuesday, Feb. 29, my
colleague and I were sitting in front of the Bogor restaurant at
Borobudur Hotel from 4:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. Afterward, I headed to
the parking lot at the back of the hotel and stopped at the
toilet for a minute. As I walked to the rear entrance, I realized
that my Cassiopeia E-105 handheld personal computer (EPIC),
serial number T4971850693314, was not in my pocket.

I ran back to the toilet and to my seat in front of the
restaurant, and by then, 6:05 p.m., my HPC was already gone. The
area where I sat was heavily guarded by hotel security because at
6:30 p.m. some ministers and important people such as Kwik Kian
Gie, Bambang Sudibyo and Sri Edi Swasono were to attend a
function right above the area where I was sitting.

And the hotel's cleaning staff confirmed that the area where I
sat was regularly cleaned.

To the person who "found" my HPC, I inform you that it would
only last for six hours without recharging by a special charger.
Do not try to use other chargers because it will ruin the HPC,
making it worthless.

For data communication with a desktop PC, the HPC requires a
special cradle. The charger, cradle and software are included in
the HPC package. If you intend to sell the HPC to a Casio dealer,
I do not think they would buy it since: 1) Casio HPCs are not hot
products, at least not in Jakarta, and 2) you do not have the
charger, cradle and software -- it is not like standard cellular
phones that are commonly used by anyone.

If you intend to sell the HPC to a user, then in addition to
the above problems is the fact that there are not many
prospective users for a Cassiopeia (especially one without the
charger, cradle and software) and 3Com's Palm is a much preferred
alternative for an HPC. In a nutshell, the HPC is not of any
meaningful value to you.

I would therefore like to offer to "buy" the item from whoever
"found" it. I am the most interested party in the HPC (since I
have the charger, cradle and software) and, hence, am willing to
pay a good price. I can be contacted at 0811-811-990 at anytime.

ANDI WIDIANTO SETIANTO

South Jakarta
",
