        "content": "<p>Hamzah to skip party post race<\/p>\n<p>JAKARTA: Vice President Hamzah Haz said on Friday he would not<br>\ncontest for the chairmanship of the United Development Party<br>\n(PPP) during the party&apos;s meeting in May.<\/p>\n<p>Hamzah, who is currently chairman of the third largest party<br>\nin the country, said he expected other candidates to come out in<br>\nthe election.<\/p>\n<p>&quot;I will wait and see, should other candidates show up then I<br>\nwill not join the race as I believe that there are many potential<br>\npoliticians in the party,&quot; Hamzah said.<\/p>\n<p>He further underlined that he preferred the new leader to be<br>\nlong-time supporter of PPP, but was open to the possibility of<br>\nany other potential politicians to join the race.<\/p>\n<p>&quot;If the person is new to the party it will not be a problem as<br>\nlong as he or she has the commitment to develop PPP,&quot; Hamzah<br>\nsaid.--JP<\/p>",
