Haluoleo uncovers admissions scandal<\/p>\n
KENDARI, Southeast Sulawesi: As part of its efforts to maintain
\nits reputation, Haluoleo University has canceled the diplomas of
\nsix alumni who were found to have gained entry to the university
\nwithout going through the proper procedures.<\/p>\n
The university, through a rector's letter dated April 19, also
\nkicked out five students currently studying there who were also
\nfound to have been admitted to the university without following
\nproper procedures.<\/p>\n
All eleven students, from the university's School of
\nMathematics and Physics, had previously been expelled from the
\nFaculty of Public Health at the private Avicenna University, but
\nsomehow had managed to gain admittance to the state-run Haluoleo
\nUniversity last year. Six of them graduated earlier this year,
\nbut the other five students were still attending classes at
\nHaluoleo before they were expelled recently. Sahta Ginting, the
\nvice rector of Haluoleo University, said that the university was
\ninvestigating the case and anyone found to have been involved in
