        "content": "<p>JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com \u2014 Indonesian Hajj pilgrims for 2026 are confirmed\nto receive pocket money (living cost) of 750 Riyals or approximately Rp\n3.3 million per person (assuming an exchange rate of 1 Riyal at around\nRp 4,500) to support their needs during their stay in the Holy Land.<\/p>\n<p>The funds come from the banknote allocation by the Hajj Financial\nManagement Agency (BPKH) amounting to 152.49 million Saudi Riyals or\nequivalent to about Rp 686-690 billion. These funds are channelled\nthrough PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero) Tbk to 203,320 regular Hajj\npilgrims.<\/p>\n<p>BPKH Executive Board Member Amri Yusuf stated that each pilgrim will\nreceive a living allowance of 750 Riyals or equivalent to around Rp 3.3\nmillion.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe principal amount is handed over in cash, while distribution\ncosts are paid after all obligations of the providers are fulfilled.\nThis is a form of high transparency in Hajj financial governance,\u201d Amri\nsaid in an official statement on Friday (10\/4\/2026).<\/p>\n<p>The pocket money will be distributed in denominations of one 500\nRiyal note, two 100 Riyal notes, and one 50 Riyal note. These funds can\nbe used for additional consumption needs, emergency funds, and payment\nof dam during the Hajj pilgrimage.<\/p>\n<p>BPKH ensures that the procurement of foreign currency is carried out\nin accordance with Law No.\u00a034 of 2014 on Hajj Financial Management,\nusing the sharf akad scheme or spot cash currency exchange in accordance\nwith Sharia principles.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn this Sharia scheme, we separate the principal currency value from\nthe distribution costs,\u201d Amri said.<\/p>\n<p>A shortfall of around Rp 33.2 million is covered from the benefits of\nHajj fund management by BPKH, thus keeping the pilgrims\u2019 burden\nlighter.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is concrete evidence that Hajj funds are managed professionally\nto ease the pilgrims\u2019 burden,\u201d Amri stated.<\/p>\n<p>He added that if there is an increase in costs due to global\ndynamics, pilgrims will not be burdened with additional fees.
