Videos of the phenomenon circulated widely on\nWhatsApp groups and social media.<\/p>\n<p>Indra Bayu Permana, Head of the Kuningan Regency Disaster Management\nAgency (BPBD), explained that, according to BMKG theory, hail is caused\nby tall Cumulonimbus (Cb) clouds in which water droplets rise, freeze,\nand grow due to repeatedly strong air currents.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018The hailstones ultimately fall to the surface before melting due to\na strong downdraft, accompanied by heavy rain, lightning, and strong\nwinds. This phenomenon generally occurs during the transitional season,\u2019\nhe said.<\/p>\n<p>He added that, again based on BMKG explanations, the process of hail\nformation from the Cb cloud begins with hot and humid air rising\nrapidly, driving the formation of towering Cumulonimbus clouds.<\/p>\n<p>Inside the Cb cloud, cold air at high altitude causes water droplets\nto freeze and form ice crystals. A strong updraft continually lifts\nthese hailstones up and down inside the cloud, making them grow larger\nand heavier.<\/p>",
