Jombang (ANTARA) - The former General Chairman of the Nahdlatul Ulama\n(PBNU), K.H. Yahya Cholil Staquf, also known as Gus Yahya, has\nemphasised that he will refocus his efforts on interfaith dialogue and\nthe strengthening of the Humanitarian Islam movement.<\/p>\n
Gus Yahya stated on Tuesday that this focus will be implemented\nthrough several international institutions he has established, including\nthe Centre for Shared Civilisational Values (CSCV).<\/p>\n
\u201cThe foundation established by me, which serves as the permanent\nsecretariat to manage and oversee the global movement of the Religion of\nTwenty (R20) forum, is the Centre for Shared Civilisational Values\n(CSCV),\u201d said Gus Yahya in a statement in Jombang on Tuesday.<\/p>\n
According to him, the CSCV serves as the permanent secretariat\nmanaging the global R20 forum movement, which brings together religious\nleaders from various countries to build dialogue regarding shared\ncivilisational values.<\/p>\n
In addition to the CSCV, Gus Yahya mentioned that he is the founder\nof a US-based global religious foundation, Bayt ar-Rahmah Li ad-Da\u2019wa\nal-Islamiyah Rahmatan li al-\u2019Alamin.<\/p>\n
\u201cBesides the CSCV, I am also the founder of a US-based global\nreligious foundation named Bayt ar-Rahmah,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
He noted that both institutions have been working alongside PBNU to\ndevelop the Humanitarian Islam movement and to organise interfaith\ndialogue forums involving religious leaders from various nations.<\/p>\n
Gus Yahya also shared his international agenda following the\nconclusion of his leadership term at PBNU. He plans to depart for the\nUnited States this coming December to undertake a series of visits and\ndialogues with various interfaith figures.<\/p>\n
\u201cIn December, I will depart for the US for a series of visits and\ndialogues with several interfaith leaders,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, the Vice General Chairman of YANMU, Syahdhana H. Baswara,\nstated that his organisation will continue its cooperation with Gus\nYahya on several programmes, particularly those related to the welfare\nof the community.<\/p>\n
YANMU is a philanthropic and humanitarian institution that carries\nout various social, health, and missionary programmes.<\/p>\n
