        "content": "<p>Gus Dur supporters rally<\/p>\n<p>PURWOKERTO, Central Java: At least 300 people calling<br>\nthemselves \"The Anti-New Order Society\" marched here on Friday in<br>\nsupport of President Abdurrahman Wahid.<\/p>\n<p>They also demanded that the Golkar Party be dissolved, saying<br>\nthe party is the source of all conflicts in the nation.<\/p>\n<p>\"We demand Golkar be dissolved. The Bulog and Brunei scandals<br>\nthat they tried to blow open broke apart this nation,\" they<br>\nprotested, referring to the financial scandals in which President<br>\nAbdurrahman is allegedly involved.<\/p>\n<p>The President's supporters also censured People's Consultative<br>\nAssembly Speaker Amien Rais for trying to oust President<br>\nAbdurrahman.<\/p>\n<p>Mochamad Ihsan, coordinator of a group calling itself Banyumas<br>\nMuslims, said over 200,000 supporters could be amassed to protect<br>\nthe President.<\/p>\n<p>\"We will only calm down once (House of Representatives<br>\nSpeaker) Akbar Tandjung and Amien stop trying to oust Gus Dur,\"<br>\nthey said, referring to Abdurrahman by his nickname.<\/p>\n<p>The group then burned several Golkar party symbols and an<br>\neffigy of Akbar Tandjung before dispersing late in the<br>\nafternoon.(45)<\/p>",
