The Cabinet that was announced on Aug. 23, 2000 demonstrates
\nPresident Abdurrahman Wahid's stubbornness. As many know, he is
\nconsidered stubborn and overconfident. He no longer listens to
\nhis close advisers.<\/p>\n
In the past, Gus Dur, as the President is called, often
\ncreated problems with both kyai (venerated Islamic scholars) and
\nother people. That's why people often call him a person who often
\ndoes things that other people in general would not do. However, a
\nlot of people still support him, including kyai. It is as if
\nthose kyai cannot do anything against Gus Dur.<\/p>\n
One person fell victim to Gus Dur's stubbornness when he was
\nchairman of Nahdlatul Ulama's (NU) central board. Of course we
\nstill remember Alie Yafie, who resigned during the national
\ncongress of the NU in Bandar Lampung, as a result of having a
\ndifference of opinion with Gus Dur.<\/p>\n
This time, as President, Gus Dur has created many opponents.
\nThere have been a lot of victims as a result of Gus Dur's
\nattitude, which never changes. That's Gus Dur. Unfortunately, the
\nfate of 200 million of people is in the hands of this national
\nleader. The performance of Gus Dur's administration has proved
\nthat there have been no significant changes. So, where is he
\ntaking this nation to?<\/p>\n
