The case of Gunungkidul DPRD member Sugito, who was said to have\nberated a noodle seller over receiving coin change, has ended\npeacefully. Sugito\u2019s family visited the victim and conveyed an\napology.<\/p>\n
The younger sibling of Bakmi Mbak Tri owner, Yuli (48), said Sugito\u2019s\nfamily came to the stall on Friday (15\/8) evening. \u201cSo last night\n(Friday 15\/8), Mr Sugito\u2019s family showed good faith by coming to our\nplace,\u201d Yuli said when contacted by detikJogja on Saturday\n(15\/8\/2026).<\/p>\n
Yuli said the family members who came consisted of Sugito\u2019s wife,\nson, and son-in-law. During the meeting, Sugito\u2019s family also apologised\nfor the incident Yuli experienced. \u201cThey humbly conveyed an apology for\nthe incident that befell us, especially the verbal abuse I experienced.\nAnd I personally have actually forgiven them,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
Yuli said from the beginning she had no intention of seeking\ncompensation through her social media post. She hopes the incident can\nserve as a lesson for public officials and DPRD members not to act\narbitrarily towards the public. \u201cSo posting on social media was not\nbecause we were hoping for compensation, but as a lesson that public\nofficials or DPRD members should not act arbitrarily, do unpleasant\nthings, or verbally abuse anyone,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
\u201cHopefully this becomes a lesson for everyone that those at the top\nwould not be at the top without people at the bottom like us,\u201d she\nsaid.<\/p>\n
Yuli stressed that the matter is now considered resolved. She also\nreiterated that her side did not request or expect any compensation over\nthe incident. \u201cSo we consider this case as forgiven and let go. But we\nemphasise that we did not ask for or expect any compensation,\u201d she\nsaid.<\/p>\n
Previously, a post claiming a Gunungkidul DPRD member became angry\nafter receiving coin change following a meal of Javanese noodles in\nPlayen went viral on social media. The Instagram account @gunungkidul_viral2<\/span> stated the\nincident occurred at Bakmi Mbak Tri Gading VI stall in Playen,\nGunungkidul, on Wednesday (13\/8) evening.<\/p>\n \u201cOn 13 August 2026, around 8pm WIB, a member of the Gunungkidul DPRD\nnamed Sugito ate at our stall \u2018Bakmi Mbak Tri Gading VI\u2019 Playen,\nGunungkidul. After finishing his meal, because the change was Rp500\ncoins, he became angry and belittled our small food stall and shouted at\nmy wife who was serving him, saying \u2018do you know who I am?\u2019. This\nbehaviour has repeatedly caused a commotion at our stall every time this\nperson stops by. We truly do not accept the belittling and insults we\nreceived. We will defend our dignity no matter what, even though we are\nsmall people,\u201d the Instagram account wrote.<\/p>\n Yuli confirmed the incident. She said it occurred when Sugito came\nwith a colleague to the Bakmi Mbak Tri stall in Gading 6, Playen. After\nfinishing the meal, he paid for the food. However, Sugito allegedly\nbecame angry after receiving change in coins.<\/p>\n \u201cAnd after the payment was made, we said we did not have Rp1,000\nnotes for change, and the change happened to be Rp8,000, so I replaced\nthe Rp1,000 with two Rp500 coins,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n Yuli admitted she had apologised when giving the change because the\navailable money was in coins. Yuli said the change was then thrown onto\nthe table. \u201cBut the money was eventually thrown onto the table and he\nsaid to me, \u2018is there no other small change or what, something smaller\nthan this\u2019. Then I said, \u2018I apologise, Sir, I already apologised\nearlier, if you do not want it I will replace it with Rp2,000\u2019,\u201d she\nsaid.<\/p>\n Meanwhile, detikJogja has sought confirmation from Sugito regarding\nthe incident. However, Sugito declined to comment. \u201cI cannot give a\ncomment,\u201d Sugito said briefly by phone.<\/p>",
