Police arrested a bird and pedal bicycle thief in Wonosari,\nGunungkidul. In his actions, the perpetrator also damaged CCTV to\neliminate traces. Examination results revealed the perpetrator is a\nmember of Gunungkidul Satpol PP holding part-time PPPK status.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe perpetrator is a member of Gunungkidul Satpol PP with part-time\nPPPK status,\u201d said Gunungkidul Police Chief AKBP Damus Asa to reporters\nat the Gunungkidul Police Station on Tuesday (21\/4\/2026).<\/p>\n
The suspect, initialled RDS (29) alias Jeje, a resident of Wonosari,\nGunungkidul. Jeje is currently detained in the Gunungkidul Police\ndetention room to account for his actions.<\/p>\n
Wonosari Police Chief, Kompol Tri Wibawa, said the case disclosure\nbegan when a resident of Siraman, Wonosari, became a victim of the theft\nof a cendet bird along with its cage on Saturday (28\/2\/2026).<\/p>\n
\u201cBesides the cendet bird, the perpetrator also damaged two CCTV\nunits. The total loss is around Rp 2 million,\u201d he stated.<\/p>\n
During the investigation, police received another report of a pedal\nbicycle theft belonging to a Siraman resident on Wednesday (8\/4\/2026).\nThe bicycle went missing when left in the house garage.<\/p>\n
\u201cAfter investigation, the perpetrator was secured in the afternoon.\nFrom his confession, it turned out the perpetrator had also previously\nstolen a pet bird and damaged CCTV in Siraman,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
In addition to arresting Jeje, police seized evidence including a\nblack CCTV camera cover, CCTV footage, one motorbike unit, two bamboo\npoles, one wooden pole, one cendet bird, a bird cage, and a pedal\nbicycle.<\/p>\n
\u201cHis modus operandi was to act at night and wait for the victim to be\noff guard. He damaged the CCTV to eliminate traces after stealing the\nbird,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
Regarding the motive, Tri stated that Jeje wanted to own a pet bird\nand a bicycle. \u201cThe perpetrator\u2019s motive was simply to possess them,\u201d he\nsaid.<\/p>\n
For his actions, Jeje is charged under Article 477 paragraph (1)\nletter e of the Criminal Code subsidiary to Article 476 of the Criminal\nCode and Article 521 paragraph (1) in conjunction with Article 127 of\nLaw No.\u00a01 of 2023.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe maximum penalty is seven years in prison,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
Acting Head of Gunungkidul Satpol PP, Hary Sukmono, confirmed that\nJeje is indeed a member of Gunungkidul Satpol PP. Hary has also received\na notification letter from Gunungkidul Police regarding the case.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt is true (Jeje is a member of Gunungkidul Satpol PP), he is a\npart-time PPPK in the Public Order and Tranquillity Sector,\u201d he\nsaid.<\/p>\n
According to Hary, Gunungkidul Satpol PP has sent a letter to the\nRegional Personnel, Education, and Training Agency (BKPPD) Gunungkidul\nfor further steps regarding Jeje\u2019s status at Satpol PP.<\/p>\n
