South Gunung Sahari sub-district, Central Jakarta, is targeting the\ncompletion of its flagship area redevelopment in Garuda Alley (RT 08\/RW\n06) by the end of September 2026.<\/p>\n
Tarida Nababan, the Secretary of South Gunung Sahari, stated that the\nredevelopment has been underway for three months and has currently\nreached 80 per cent completion. \u201cThe area redevelopment in Garuda Alley\nhas been progressing for three months, has reached 80 per cent, and is\ntargeted to be finished by the end of September,\u201d Tarida said in a\nstatement in Jakarta on Friday.<\/p>\n
Tarida noted that the area was previously poorly maintained and\nfilled with rubbish and debris. The redevelopment is being carried out\nthrough a collaboration between local neighbourhood heads (RT\/RW),\ncommunity institutions (LMK), PPSU officers, and several relevant\nregional government working units.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe are transforming this place back into a beautiful park, full of\nplants and murals that are pleasing to the eye,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n
As part of the redevelopment, the sub-district is also providing\nenvironmental management facilities, including biopore holes, plastic\nbottle collection bins, and eco-enzyme processing. Tarida explained that\nplastic bottles collected from residents will be weighed every Friday,\nand the proceeds can provide economic value to the community. Meanwhile,\nthe produced eco-enzyme can be used to water the plants in the area.<\/p>\n
She mentioned that the project involves six Public Infrastructure and\nFacilities Handling (PPSU) officers from South Gunung Sahari, in\ncollaboration with the Sub-department of Parks and Urban Forests, the\nEnvironment Agency, the Public Works Agency, and local community\nleaders. The sub-district has also submitted a request to the\nSub-department of Food Security, Marine, and Agriculture (KPKP) for the\nprovision of productive plant seedlings that can later be utilised by\nlocal residents.<\/p>\n
Additionally, lighting in the area will be improved. \u201cI urge the\ncommunity and local institutions to treat this park as a shared asset\nand to take collective responsibility to ensure that what has been\ndeveloped is maintained and cared for,\u201d said Tarida.<\/p>\n
