Gulf finds new gas well<\/p>\n
JAKARTA (JP): State-owned oil and gas firm Pertamina announced
\nyesterday that Gulf Indonesia Resources Ltd had drilled a new gas
\nwell, the Rebonjaro Dalam-1, in its Corridor production sharing
\ncontract (PSC) area in South Sumatra.<\/p>\n
The Rebonjaro Dalam-1 exploration well, tested four zones at
\nbetween 1,801 meters and 2,124 meters. Gas flowed at an initial
\nrate of 6.2 million cubic feet per day during an eight-hour
\nperiod. The composition of the gas was 26 percent carbon dioxide.<\/p>\n
The Rebonjaro Dalam-1 well, Gulf's eighth gas discovery in the
\narea since 1991, is located just 5 kilometers from the main
\ngathering line of the Corridor gas project which links to Caltex
\nIndonesia's Duri steamflood project in Riau.<\/p>\n
\"The proximity of the discovery to the Corridor gas project
\ninfrastructure will enable easy tie-in for future gas production
\nfrom the area,\" Pertamina said.<\/p>\n
Gulf Indonesia maintains a 54 percent interest in the Corridor
\nPSC and acts as operator. Its partners are Talisman Energy Icn of
\nCanada with 36 percent and Pertamina with 10 percent. (rid)<\/p>",
