Indonesian children have said good bye to Stephen J.
\nWoodhouse, the United Nations Children's Fund (Unicef) area
\nrepresentative for Indonesia and Malaysia who left for Geneva to
\ntake up his new post last Friday.<\/p>\n
\"I feel very sad to leave Indonesia at this time of the year
\nwhen millions of children are still suffering,\" commented
\nWoodhouse during a farewell party with local journalists last
\nweekend.<\/p>\n
Popular among local journalists, he said the media had helped
\nhim to carry out a tough job to raise funds for malnourished
\nchildren and school dropouts throughout the country.<\/p>\n
During his term, Unicef actively launched the Aku Anak Sekolah
\n(I am a school student) campaign and various health and food aid
\nprograms to help Indonesian children and women.<\/p>\n
\"I wish I could come back to Indonesia and work for the
\nchildren after I retire from Unicef,\" said Woodhouse, who married
\nan Indonesian lady.<\/p>\n
He said he would really miss his friends in Indonesia and
\nIndonesian food, especially the spicy Padang (West Sumatra)
\ncuisine.<\/p>\n
\"If you visit Geneva, you'll have a friend there. Please come
