Guess What? Probosutedjo<\/p>\n
Business tycoon Probosutedjo, former president Soeharto's
\nhalf-brother, sobbed as he addressed a graduation ceremony on
\nTuesday at Wangsa Manggala University near Yogyakarta.<\/p>\n
Probosutedjo, who chairs the foundation that runs the
\nuniversity, was obviously not one of the scores of parents who
\nwere happy because their children had completed their studies.<\/p>\n
He used the occasion to tell stories of how people have
\nmercilessly waged a campaign to misinform the public that he got
\nhis vast wealth by way of corruption, collusion and nepotism
\n(KKN) during Soeharto's 32 year rule.<\/p>\n
\"I did nothing as they have alleged,\" he said. His voice
\ntrembled with emotion. \"What I have been doing is purely
\nbusiness ... and I don't know if my relatives committed KKN.\"<\/p>\n
The audience fell silent and all eyes were on him.<\/p>\n
Probosutedjo, who is acclaimed for his concern for education
\nand owns several colleges, claimed the fact that he is Soeharto's
\nrelative has often hindered his business.<\/p>\n
\"They (bureaucrats) have often made things difficult for me,\"
\nhe said but he failed to mention if it had happened when Soeharto
\nwas in power.<\/p>\n
He ended his speech with a piece of advice for the graduates:
\nto ignore accusations, if any, that the money used to finance the
\ncollege project was obtained through corruption, collusion and
