The new-awaited baby is a five-star hotel The Regent Jakarta,
\nwhich is expected to start operation next month, added Hana, the
\nhotel's public relations and media coordinator.<\/p>\n
The construction of the Regent Jakarta was halted for several
\nyears due to financial constraints and internal problems among
\nthe investors. The hotel is developed by PT Permadani
\nKhatulistiwa, the Kodel business group and will be managed by the
\nFour Seasons and Regent Hotel chain.<\/p>\n
\"Many people often thought it was going to be a hospital,
\noffice building and even a jail. I have had to explain it to the
\npublic many times,\" she said.<\/p>\n
Located in Jakarta's golden triangle, bordering Jl.H.R. Rasuna
\nSaid (Kuningan) and Jl. Sudirman, the 17-story hotel is dominated
\nby gray granite as well as pastel and natural colors.<\/p>\n
The hotel building, designed by the famous San Francisco-based
\narchitectural firm Skidmore, Owing & Merill, is inspired by the
\nfamous Al-Hambra Palace in Spain.<\/p>\n
\"When it is completed, the hotel will have a striking
\nappearance. The combination of international and traditional
\nelements,\" Hana explained.<\/p>\n
Hana, who has held the same position at the Borobudur Inter-
\nContinental Hotel, added \"It is my job to promote the coming
