AM Fatwa<\/p>\n<p>Political reporters who were busy covering the latest news in<br>\nthe House of Representatives\/People&apos;s Consultative Assembly<br>\n(DPR\/MPR) building on Thursday sensed something unusual when the<br>\nNational Mandate Party (PAN) deputy chairman, AM Fatwa, called a<br>\nnews conference.<\/p>\n<p>This time Fatwa was not accompanied by other party executives,<br>\nbut by the parents of the &quot;queen of ecstasy&quot;, Zarima Mirafsur.<\/p>\n<p>And this time, Fatwa did not talk about President Abdurrahman<br>\nWahid&apos;s overseas trips or his alleged involvement in the Bulog<br>\nand Brunei financial scandals.<\/p>\n<p>Instead, Fatwa announced that the party will sue GAMMA weekly<br>\nfor libel because of a story alluding to intimate relations<br>\nbetween Zarima and PAN chairman Amien Rais in its latest issue.<\/p>\n<p>In the article, titled &quot;The Alluring Body of Zarima and<br>\nPolitical Terror&quot;, the magazine claimed that, during the General<br>\nSession of the MPR in October 1999 Zarima and Amien Rais both<br>\nstayed at the Mulia Hotel and that at one point she contacted<br>\nAmien Rais there, Antara reported.<\/p>\n<p>According to Fatwa, the article went so far as implying that<br>\nAmien Rais and Zarima eventually developed a relationship so<br>\nclose that it resulted in the birth of a baby, Nikita<br>\nChairunnisa.<\/p>\n<p>Fatwa stressed there was a malicious conspiracy among certain<br>\nparties who had used the magazine to conduct a character<br>\nassassination of Amien Rais. &quot;It is alluded to that Zarima&apos;s baby<br>\nwas fathered by Amien Rais. A very malicious conspiracy,&quot; he<br>\nsaid.<\/p>\n<p>According to Fatwa, he had consulted both Amien Rais and<br>\nZarima, who outrightly rejected the magazine&apos;s article as<br>\nnonsense.<\/p>",
