        "content": "<p>Gudang Garam to buy new factory<\/p>\n<p>JAKARTA: Publicly-listed cigarette maker PT Gudang Garam said<br>\non Wednesday it planned to acquire a Rp 784 billion (US$75<br>\nmillion) factory owned by its affiliate PT Karyadibya Mahardika<br>\nas part of an expansion program.<\/p>\n<p>Gudang Garam said in a statement that the factory would be<br>\nused to manufacture low tar and low nicotine clove blended<br>\ncigarettes.<\/p>\n<p>Company president Djajusman Suryowijono said the move would<br>\nprovide Gudang Garam with an edge to compete in the growing<br>\nmarket.<\/p>\n<p>The factory, which is nearing completion, will have a total<br>\ncapacity of 13 billion cigarettes annually. The company expects<br>\nto launch its light cigarettes sometime this year.<\/p>\n<p>Light cigarettes accounts for about 10 percent of the total<br>\nclove blended cigarette output in Indonesia. -- JP<\/p>",
