Guard killed while patrolling factory<\/p>\n
JAKARTA (JP): A security guard for a factory in Bekasi was
\nfound dead early yesterday with at least eight stab wounds in his
\nbody, a police officer said.<\/p>\n
Second Lt. Saut Gultom of Bekasi Police precinct said that
\nSunarto, 45, was killed by a group of people, who broke into the
\nwarehouse of PT Epi Terma Mas, a lathe assembler.<\/p>\n
He said police found several lathes outside the warehouse,
\nindicating that the suspects had attempted to remove the heavy
\nequipment but failed to load them into their vehicle, probably
\ndue to a lack of time.<\/p>\n
\"It's therefore impossible that there were less than two
\npeople in the group because the machines are too heavy.\"<\/p>\n
Gultom said that the suspects were still at large.<\/p>\n
Sunarto, of Jl. Lumbu Utara, Bojong in Rawalumbu district, is
\nbelieved to have died from a fatal wound to the back of his head.<\/p>\n
\"We found his uniform torn into pieces, indicating that he had
\ntried to defend himself before he was killed.\"<\/p>\n
A preliminary investigation revealed that the guard was
\nattacked while patrolling the factory in the early hours of
\nyesterday morning.<\/p>\n
\"According to the other security officers, Sunarto wanted to
\nsecure the warehouse, which was located at the back of the
\nfactory's compound,\" Gultom said.<\/p>\n
But he provided no details about why the victim's colleagues
\nknew nothing about Sunarto's fate until factory workers found the
\nguard's body at the side of the warehouse at 7:30 a.m.<\/p>\n
Police found car tire tracks around the area where Sunarto was
\nattacked and stabbed, Gultom said. (04)<\/p>",
