        "content": "<p>GT Petrochem adopts e-business system<\/p>\n<p>The Jakarta Post, Jakarta<\/p>\n<p>In a bid to increase efficiency, polyester manufacturer PT GT<br>\nPetrochem Tbk has begun to implement Oracle's electronic<br>\nintegrated business solution.<\/p>\n<p>The company, which makes polyester and products used for<br>\ntextile production such as mono-ethylene glycol and polyester<br>\nfilament, signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to use<br>\nOracle's E-Business Suite with PT Oracle Indonesia recently.<\/p>\n<p>\"This agreement is based on the fact that the company is<br>\noperating in a competitive manufacturing sector. This kind of IT<br>\nsolution is expected to improve services to the customers and<br>\nstakeholders,\" GT Petrochem commissioner Bacelius Ruru said.<\/p>\n<p>The E-Business Suite is an integrated system of core business<br>\napplications that streamlines business processes, such as<br>\nfinancial, purchasing, inventory management, order management,<br>\nmanufacturing and sales force operations.<\/p>\n<p>Application modules of the solution include Enterprise<br>\nResource Planning (ERP) and Supply Chain Management (SCM).<\/p>\n<p>GT Petrochem financial director Irene Chen said the company<br>\nhad invested US$3 million into the ERP and SCM.<\/p>\n<p>\"We hope the investment will help increase our company's<br>\nrevenue from last year's of around Rp 4.5 trillion (US$477<br>\nmillion),\" Irene said.<\/p>\n<p>The full implementation of the ERP and SCM modules, which<br>\nstarted in March, was scheduled to be completed by the beginning<br>\nof next year.<\/p>\n<p>\"The first phase of the implementation is for finance and<br>\nsupply,\" she said. \"The second, which is for manufacturing<br>\nincluding basic planning and production, hopefully will start in<br>\n2007.\"<\/p>\n<p>PT Oracle Indonesia managing director Adi Rusli said the<br>\nimplementation of the module on finance -- which included five<br>\nsub-modules on accounts receivable, accounts payable, cash<br>\nmanagement, fixed assets and a general ledger -- would take about<br>\nnine months to install depending on the scope of the business.<\/p>\n<p>Adi said this year 19 firms had implemented Oracle's IT<br>\nsolutions.<\/p>\n<p>Oracle, which controls the largest IT solutions market share<br>\nin North America, provides business solutions for small and<br>\nmedium enterprises (SME) to help improve their business<br>\noperations, reduce costs and ensure profitability.
