        "content": "<p>Growing foreign investments<\/p>\n<p>Two-hundred and twenty nine foreign investment projects in<br>\nIndonesia, worth a total of US$15.6 billion, were approved during<br>\nthe first four months of this year, representing an increase of<br>\n468 percent over the figure for the corresponding period in 1994.<br>\nAs a result, Indonesia now ranks third among the most attractive<br>\ndeveloping countries for foreign investors, after China and<br>\nVietnam. This fact disproves claims that Indonesia is a high-risk<br>\ncountry for investments.<\/p>\n<p>Naturally, we hope that realized foreign investment will<br>\ncontinue to grow in the future. We see foreign investment as a<br>\nvery important instrument for acquiring technological control. A<br>\nproblem arises because international competition is becoming more<br>\nand more technology-driven.
