As a concrete form of strengthening this synergy, a joint commitment\nwas signed between the Gresik Regency Government and labour unions\nacross Gresik Regency.<\/p>\n
This commitment includes several strategic steps, such as promoting\nthe strengthening of labour regulations, improving social security\nprotection for workers, optimising the absorption of local labour, and\nenhancing a fair industrial relations system.<\/p>\n
The Gresik Regency Government also emphasised its focus on improving\nhuman resource quality through strengthening worker competencies and\nskills. On the other hand, the implementation of Regional Regulation\nNumber 7 of 2022 on employment opportunities continues to be optimised,\nwith a minimum target of 60 percent of the workforce coming from local\nresidents.<\/p>\n
\u201cWhen our human resources become increasingly competent and\nemployment opportunities are widely open to Gresik residents, prosperity\nwill grow sustainably,\u201d Yani asserted.<\/p>\n
In addition, the Gresik Regency Government, together with tripartite\nelements, will strengthen monitoring of labour recruitment and optimise\nthe role of the Labour Quick Reaction Unit (URC) Team in early detection\nof potential violations of workers\u2019 normative rights, to maintain\nharmonious industrial relations.<\/p>\n
