Police have disclosed the latest facts regarding the incident\ninvolving the Green SM electric taxi stalling in front of a KRL train on\nthe Cikarang-Jakarta route in East Bekasi.<\/p>\n
The Head of Public Relations for Polda Metro Jaya, Kombes Budi\nHermanto, stated that before the incident, the vehicle driven by RPP\nsuddenly died at a level crossing. The driver then attempted to exit the\nvehicle.<\/p>\n
\u201cWhile being driven, the vehicle died at the railway level crossing.\nWhen the driver wanted to open the door to get out, he couldn\u2019t,\u201d Budi\nsaid at Polda Metro Jaya on Friday (8\/5).<\/p>\n
At that time, Budi explained, the vehicle\u2019s transmission also shifted\nto the \u2018parking\u2019 position. The driver then turned off the vehicle and\nwas finally able to open the window.<\/p>\n
\u201cWhen the individual tried to turn off the vehicle and open it, he\ncould then lower the car window from the online taxi. Thus, the driver\ncould exit [through the window] and was saved from the vehicle with help\nfrom nearby residents via the driver\u2019s side window,\u201d Budi recounted.<\/p>\n
Budi mentioned that the cause of the electric taxi suddenly dying is\nstill being investigated by detectives, involving Puslabfor and\nKNKT.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis is still being delved into, whether it was the impact of\nmagnetic fields or electric fields on the online taxi vehicle. This is\nstill being examined by Puslabfor, and similarly being examined in\nparallel by KNKT. The team is still working to investigate,\u201d he\nsaid.<\/p>\n
The accident involving the KA Argo Bromo Anggrek train and the KRL\nCommuter Line at Bekasi Timur Station occurred on Monday night (27\/4).\nThe incident resulted in 16 people dead and 90 others injured.<\/p>\n
The incident began with the Green SM taxi breaking down in the middle\nof the level crossing due to an electrical system disruption. The\nvehicle was then struck by the passing KRL. As a result of the first\naccident, one KRL set bound for Cikarang made an emergency stop at\nBekasi Timur Station.<\/p>\n
In that stopped position, the KRL set was hit from behind by the KA\nArgo Bromo Anggrek, causing the women\u2019s carriage at the rear to crumple\nand claiming the lives of more than a dozen people.<\/p>\n
