        "content": "<p>Graft probe into poll body continues<\/p>\n<p>JAKARTA: The Jakarta Prosecutor's Office has collected more<br>\nevidence on alleged corruption by members of the Jakarta<br>\nElections Commission (KPU Jakarta).<\/p>\n<p>On Tuesday, head of the investigating team Syaiful Tahir<br>\nretrieved all procurement contracts for election materials used<br>\nin last year's election that were made by KPU Jakarta as well as<br>\na financial report from the State Audit Agency.<\/p>\n<p>Prosecutors have been investigating the misuse of Rp 13<br>\nbillion (US$1.37 million) of city funds earmarked for the 2004<br>\nelections. Syaiful found on May 31 that poll body chairman<br>\nMuhammad Taufik and several other KPU members had taken over the<br>\nprocurement tenders that were supposed to have been handled by<br>\nthe head of the logistics tender unit.<\/p>\n<p>The prosecutors have named Taufik, commission member A. Riza<br>\nPatria and treasurer Neneng Euis Palupi as suspects. They have<br>\nall been detained pending the investigation, while prosecutors<br>\nhave also sealed houses belonging to Taufik and Neneng to<br>\nrestrict access to possible evidence in the case. -- JP<\/p>",
