Graduation to go on despite fire<\/p>\n

The Bogor Institute of Agriculture (IPB) will hold its graduation
\nceremony on Wednesday as planned, despite a campus fire on Friday
\nafternoon that badly damaged the Graha Widya Wisuda building,
\nwhere the ceremony was scheduled to take place.<\/p>\n
The graduation ceremony will now be held in a nearby sports
\nfield on the campus.<\/p>\n
Rector Ahmad Ansori Mattjik assured graduates and their
\nparents on Saturday that the fire would not ruin graduation day.<\/p>\n
\"The graduation ceremony will be held as scheduled on June 30,
\nat the outdoor field of the Darmaga gymnasium,\" he said as quoted
\nby Antara.<\/p>\n
Assistant Rector Herry Suhardianto said parents would still be
\nable to park on campus for the ceremony.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, the head of campus security, Subagio, denied
\nallegations that the fire on Friday had been deliberately set.<\/p>\n
\"The fire was caused by a short circuit near the roof of the
\nbuilding,\" he said, adding that this had been confirmed by a
\npolice forensic team.<\/p>\n
Subagio said sparks from the short circuit caused the
\nfiberglass in the building's roof to catch fire. Campus security
\nofficers attempted in vain to extinguish the fire, which quickly
\nspread to other parts of the building.<\/p>\n
Firefighters were called to the scene and were able to
\nextinguish the blaze. The firefighters also saved the stage and
\nchairs that had been set up inside the building for the
\ngraduation ceremony.<\/p>\n
