        "content": "<p>JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - Grab Indonesia and PT GoTo Gojek Tokopedia Tbk\n(GOTO) have responded to President Prabowo Subianto\u2019s policy reducing\nthe fee deduction for online motorcycle taxi (ojol) drivers to platforms\nfrom the previous 20 percent to 8 percent.<\/p>\n<p>The provision is regulated in Presidential Regulation (Perpres)\nNo.\u00a027 of 2026 on the Protection of Online Transportation Workers.<\/p>\n<p>Grab Indonesia\u2019s Chief Executive Officer, Neneng Goenadi, stated that\nthe company respects the directive conveyed by President Prabowo and is\ncommitted to supporting the government\u2019s vision in improving public\nwelfare.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cCurrently, we are still awaiting the official issuance of the\nPresidential Regulation so that we can review and study the details of\nthe directive further,\u201d Neneng said in an official statement on Friday\n(1\/5\/2026).<\/p>\n<p>She assessed that the proposed change in commission structure\nrepresents a fundamental shift in how digital platforms function as\nmarketplaces.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe will collaborate with the government and relevant stakeholders to\nendeavour to implement this change,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, GoTo\u2019s President Director, Hans Patuwo, stated that the\ncompany will comply with government regulations regarding the protection\nof online transportation workers, including the new provisions in\nPerpres No.\u00a027 of 2026.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cGoTo always complies with government regulations, including the\ndirective conveyed by President Prabowo Subianto regarding the\nprotection of online transportation workers as stipulated in\nPresidential Regulation No.\u00a027 of 2026,\u201d Hans said in an official\nstatement.<\/p>\n<p>He stated that GoTo would first examine the regulation to understand\nthe details and various necessary adjustments.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cCurrently, we will conduct a review to understand the details,\nimplications, and necessary adjustments in accordance with the\nregulation,\u201d Hans said.<\/p>\n<p>He added that GoTo would continue to coordinate with the government\nand relevant stakeholders regarding regulations in the online\ntransportation sector so that the company can continue to provide\nsustainable benefits to society, particularly driver partners and\ncustomers.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe will continue to coordinate with the government and all relevant\nstakeholders so that GoTo\/Gojek can continue to provide sustainable\nbenefits to all of society, especially Gojek driver partners and\ncustomers,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Previously, President Prabowo Subianto, during the 2026 International\nLabour Day commemoration at Monas, Jakarta, on Friday (1\/5\/2026),\nannounced that the ojol driver fee deduction would be reduced to 8\npercent.<\/p>\n<p>The issuance of Perpres 27\/2026 regulating the provision was\ndescribed as one of the gifts for workers on the 2026 World Labour Day\ncommemoration.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe income distribution was previously 80 percent for drivers, now\nit becomes a minimum of 92 percent for drivers,\u201d Prabowo said.<\/p>\n<p>On that occasion, Prabowo also requested that ojol drivers receive\nseveral social safety nets, such as work accident insurance, BPJS\nHealth, and health insurance.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThey must be given work accident insurance, will be provided with\nBPJS Health, health insurance,\u201d Prabowo stated.<\/p>",
