Govt reaches 91% of tax revenue target by end November<\/p>\n

The government had met 91.45 percent of its tax revenue target
\nas at the end of November, a senior official of the Ministry of
\nFinance said on Friday.<\/p>\n
Director General of Tax Hadi Purnomo said that during the
\neleven-month period until the end of November, tax revenue had
\nreached Rp 143.181 trillion (about US$14.18 billion), compared to
\nthe budget target of Rp 156.654 trillion for the whole year.<\/p>\n
Hadi was quoted by Antara as saying that the figures included
\nincome tax in foreign currencies, which amounted to Rp 2.432
\ntrillion.<\/p>\n
He said income tax from the oil and gas sector during the
\nperiod had exceeded the initial target by Rp 774.7 billion, while
\nrevenue from value added tax and luxury tax had exceeded the
\ntarget by Rp 193.7 billion.<\/p>\n
He did not specify the targets.<\/p>\n
Income tax revenue from the non-oil and gas sector was Rp
\n865.7 billion lower than the target for the period, while revenue
\nfrom land and building tax and land and building title
\nacquisition fees was Rp 30.30 billion below the target, according
\nto Hadi.<\/p>\n
Officials from the directorate have on several occasions
\nexpressed optimism that the budget's tax revenue target would be
\nmet, and perhaps even exceeded.<\/p>\n
For next year's budget, the government has targeted collecting
\nRp 184.675 trillion in tax revenue, including Rp 104.497 trillion
\nin income tax, Rp 70.099 trillion in value added tax and luxury
\ntax, Rp 5.9 trillion in land and building tax and Rp 2.205
\ntrillion in land and building title acquisition fees, and Rp
\n1.949 trillion in other taxes.<\/p>",
